HMm...how to make this work...

WARNING! The following is partially a rant aimed at my former employers, mostly out of "You f*ckers used me and then tried to stiff me out of my unemployment benefits" angst. As such, it is an excited utterance, which should not necessarily be taken as fact, just in case somebody from said Mass Claims Resolution Firm actually sees this (which they shouldn't be able to do, seeing as how they've configured their routers to reject this site as "entertainment".

It appears Rhiannon has an opportunity for a new job. This will be good, as it will get her out of the sweatshop that is (Name of Firm deleted out of a sudden attack of common sense), where "Claims Specialist" is seen as equalling "wage slave", and if moral is bad, the beatings will intensify until they find somebody to blame.

Currently, said somebody is my wife. Despite the fact that she does more forms than other specialists there, they have decided she needs to go. They haven't fired her...yet...but they are trying to push her out not all that gently...if only so they can save from having to pay her Unemployment when she quits (although they are opening themselves up to a Hostile Work Environment lawsuit in my noneducated opinion...)

So, yes, she's looking, and she may have found. The problem is that said job is a) only part time (about 26 hours a week) currently. Supposedly that will increase. That we can deal with.

The unfortunate thing is b) The schedule is 2 PM - 8 PM M-Th and 10-1 on friday. This is difficult to arrange with my 8:30-5 M-F schedule and only one vehicle.

And no, we don't have any money to buy a clunker...right now we're just barely getting ourselves out of the hole dug by my sudden job loss this past January. We're just about out of it, but there is no savings account to fund anything. And we're too far in debt to take on another Car Payment, even for a clunkermobile.

We need to find someone that has a junker that they want to get rid of, but still runs, even if only barely. Just so long as it passes VA inspection. If you know of anyone, please leave a note in the guestbook, or e-mail me at [email protected]

IN other notes, apparently my having opinions on rule changes has pissed in someone's wheaties...so I guess I won't be saying anything controversial ever again...I forget that everyone is entitled to an opinion, so long as it concurs with the Powers that Be (TM).

And no, it isn't you. Trust me, the comments in my guestbook aren't even 1/2 of what I'm getting on e-mail lists. Maybe it's time to take a break. January can't be all that far off.
